Professional Experience

Ms. Kirk specializes in the environmental engineering aspects of contaminated site remediation and investigation.  Remedial design experience includes: soil vapor extraction, dual-phase extraction, enhanced biodegradation, vacuum-enhanced groundwater recovery, groundwater pump-and-treat, and air sparging.  Ms. Kirk manages remedial system design, installation, operation, maintenance, and monthly and quarterly reporting to appropriate regulatory agencies.  She has also designed, coordinated, and supervised pilot tests, including aquifer tests and dual-phase extraction.  She is also experienced in the analysis of pilot test data and site investigation data.  Ms. Kirk is also experienced with the performance and management of Phase I ESAs and Phase II subsurface investigations, including underground storage tank closures and site investigations and Ohio Voluntary Action Program site investigations.

Select Experience

Prepared Remedial Action Plans (RAPs) for multiple sites.  The RAPs recommended soil excavation, groundwater monitoring only programs, air sparge and soil vapor extraction, enhanced biodegradation, and the installation of a dual-phase extraction (DPE) remediation system.

Prepared remediation system specifications, coordinated with regulatory agencies, and submitted permit applications.

Conducted pilot tests, pump tests, and feasibility studies for numerous sites in order to determine the most effective remedial action.

Managed underground storage tank closures, site investigations, and remediation of many underground storage tank sites.

Prepared Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 Site Evaluations.
