Railroad Facility Redevelopment
Cincinnati, OH
SRW provided Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments and a geophysical survey to assist in procurement of an Ohio EPA Comfort Letter and 27-13 permit for redevelopment of a 40-acre former railroad roundhouse repair facility. The facility, which was in operation for 80 years, had a number of environmental site issues to be resolved as well as the site was located adjacent to a closed incinerator and landfill. SRW provided environmental services to assess the property and demonstrate that the site was not a threat to human health, welfare, and the environment. Also, during the study a 27-13 permit was obtained for the adjacent landfill for assessment and redevelopment. The site has now been developed into a commercial development including a shopping mall, office complex, and several major retail outlets.
