Aggregate Facility Redevelopment
Clermont County, OH
SRW is working with a large aggregate mining company to assess and remediate and area of a large quarry where the disposal of spent oil, solvents and PCB's occurred for years. The activities being provided include but are not limited to; Phase I and Phase II property assessments, risk assessments with the goal being to obtain a COVENANT-NOT-TO-SUE. At the time of SRW's involvement a very large but unsuccessful bioaugmentation remediation of contaminated soils was underway. Through an extensive data analysis process and the use of the VAP rules SRW was able to outline an assessment and remedial approach which will incorporate engineering and institutional controls that will shorten the time required to bring the site into compliance with applicable standards and significantly reduce the cost of cleanup to the owner. Given the change in approach, reduced time frame, cost negotiations over the sale of the property, which had stalled, have now reconvened.
