Cleanup of the Former Ironton Iron, Inc. Facility is Underway!

This February SRW will be mobilizing to Ironton, Ohio to begin the cleanup of the former Ironton Iron, Inc. facility.

The City of Ironton has worked diligently with the Ohio EPA and Ohio Department of Development to thoroughly investigate the environmental concerns at the site.  The process has taken more than four years, and involved many environmental and legal hurdles.  The City teamed with SRW to manage the environmental risks, and complete the environmental site assessments, while Cors & Bassett, LLC of Cincinnati was retained to guide the City through the legal red-tape.

In the Fall of 2007, the City, SRW, and C&B, pursued Clean Ohio Revitalization Funds for site cleanup and acquisition.  The grant, totalling nearly $2.5 Million, was awarded to the City to move this project forward.  Throughout this cleanup the City will continue to entertain potential business opportunities for the remediated site, which will reap great benefits for the residents of Ironton.
